OK, perfect.

That's what Bennett said when we were leaving the hay ride and he asked "go on slides?"  Grandpa Clyde said  "yes, we are going to the slides."  Bennett replied, "OK, perfect."
We had a great time tending Alex, Bennett, and Ruby for a few days while Emily was in Utah.  Even with the help of Clyde all day, and KC at night and mornings, I am now so much more amazed by Emily and how she does so much by herself with the triplets in tow.  They have quick two year old minds, and often have their own plans,  making it a challenge to herd them all from the car to the house.

Where's the coconuts?
Grandpa makes a good horsey
We loved our days, bath time, stories in our laps, mealtimes, (they are so polite and say "thank you" so sweetly), trips to the park, and singing in the car.  They amazed us when they knew we had not traveled far enough into the park with the farm animals. Clyde made a wrong turn and they started to cry, thinking we were going home!  They recognize the landmarks of their favorite parks.

Ruby
We had a blast with a hose for everyone ( what child does not love water?), and a slip  n slide we set up to go down the steep hill in the back yard.  Such delight when they figured out how to slide backwards and frontwards on their bellies!
Alex having a blast
We took a field trip to Costco, and had their favorite treat of yogurt swirl.  We had to get everyone their own cups because Costco had just stopped giving out courtesy cups the week before!
It took me a few nights to get the songs out of my head so I could sleep, but we're missing them a ton already.
here's a couple videos for fun:

Similarities?

Here are some photos of Camille at one week. Stella looks a bit like her mommy at the same age.

Stella at just two days old.

Camille, one week.
Stella, just a week old.

I love this one of Camille sort of winking / smiling at my mom, Jennie Carlson.
Stella, greeting the world.

Babies. They are precious and grow up to be moms.

Grandbaby!

March 17th was an eventful day. I was on my way to the airport at 4 am, reading texts from Tyler about Camille's progress in labor. She had entered the hospital on March 15th in the morning to begin being induced since she was at 41 weeks with this baby. Everyone was waiting for any bit of news, but her progress was slow on Thursday, and still the baby had not dropped all day on Friday.
I had a long wait in the baggage check in - so long that they almost would not take my bag! I had to crawl under the ropes in the security line just to get up to the front in hopes I would not miss the plane. I ran all the way down Concourse B and of course my plane was near the end. I was the last one on the plane, and as I reached down to turn off my cell I panicked. It was nowhere to be found! I checked all spots, told the flight attendant and she helped call my phone. It was not on the plane. They gave me a choice to get off the plane, or stay. I stayed, but what a sinking feeling to not have my phone and know that Camille had not had the baby yet and I had a 3 hour layover in LA!
In the LA airport I found a large book / stuff store and bought an 'instant' phone. There was an angel clerk there who was willing to help me get it working, registered, and able to make two calls and to leave a message for Tyler before I got on the plane to Hawaii. I was near tears I was so grateful for her help. I think I did shed a few tears, actually.

Tyler and I connected 5 1/2 hours later as I landed in Honolulu. He told me that Camille had finally had a C-Section at 7:30 am, while I was on the plane. The baby never dropped so it had to be a C-section. We went directly to the hospital and saw her just a few hours old. She was so alert and calm.

This new baby girl is so beautiful!
Here she is 9 days old, just before I left to get on the plane back to Utah.

click Here for some more great photos of her!

Clyde sent me his cell phone by overnight mail, and then found out on Sunday that my phone had been found in the Salt Lake Airport. I got it when I returned home 10 days later.

I loved being in Hawaii with Camille and Tyler and holding this new sweet baby girl. It was hard to leave such a calm sweet spirit.

I have since discovered Face Time on the iPad and it makes me happy to see her often!

one of each

Funny thing I noticed this morning on my bathroom counter. There were two different earrings, one of each. The very same ones I had worn yesterday to the baby shower for Amy at Lisa Hill's new place in Lehi. I had a brief thought to myself as I put them on (I wonder why one has a plastic end on the earring and the other doesn't?) but it did not stop me as I put on both earrings, and drove to Lehi.
I talked to at least 9 persons and greeted 3 - 4 more. Either everyone was being very polite, or no one noticed my mismatched ears. What about it, Robinson relatives?

It's been a long time

...since I served in a Primary Presidency or a YW presidency, and about three years since I served in RS as a counselor. I always had a shelf in the front hall closet for my stuff, and while the children were in school they had shelves for their books and backpacks. In theory it worked, although I recall it needed a clean out quite often.
Today I decided it was time to move out the Presidency stuff from all the Church organizations and reclaim that spot for a more accessible wrapping paper, tissue, ribbon storage place. I categorized the tissue by color - and it's so much easier to see what I have. I kept a few bags, some smaller folds of wrapping paper and some small gift boxes. I should have done this long ago, and I think I may toss more of those little boxes.

It feels so good to see it at eye level - I tossed ugly wrapping paper, bits of ribbon I'll never use, boxes and bags that don't fit. Bonus, two more shelves completely opened up for better uses.

I found some fun stickers I can use in Nursery and spot for my current Church 'stuff'.

Clyde was busy today getting our entertainment center cleaned out and ready for a move. Time to go with a slimmer TV and narrower storage solution for dvd and cd players. I can't believe how huge our TV is! And heavy. It will be good to see it gone.

It's Sew Fun

Clyde bought me a new sewing machine for Christmas. Nicole and Michelle and Clyde cleaned out the stuff in my sewing room (it had become the dumping ground just before the storage room) and painted the walls.

The before: (half the stuff was already hauled out - it was much worse than this) I tossed a lot of stuff, organized what I wanted to keep and ordered one more storage drawer set.
Then Clyde ordered a new counter top, just the right height for sewing. I keep my ironing board at the same height and I just swivel around in my chair to press something.
And I have one of the chairs that used to belong to my Grandmother Carlson, my dad's mother. In case I have a visitor while I sew...
Clyde found some really bright fluorescent light bulbs and it is really bright in there now. I Love it.
We just have to order some cupboards for the wall and I'll be all set.

I have completed my four lessons to update me on all the features of my new machine and I have been sewing some fun stuff!
Here's a 'raggie' blanket - my first!

Two receiving blankets with fun binding..

Nicole and I embellished some onsies
I can't believe what a difference a few changes have made. And it really made a difference when I got replacement blades for my rotary cutter, got my scissors sharpened, and bought new quality thread!

Ahh, sweet!

There's a story behind these sweaters, and a reason I have kept them since our very first Christmas. If you have heard the engagement story of Janice and Clyde you are in the know...
With all the recent hype about "Ugly Christmas Sweater" parties, we had a try on session of some of the many sweaters I have worn over the years, including the matching ones here.

I think that everyone looks fabulous in these!
Next year we need to grab KC and Emily, and Camille and Tyler. Christmas letter, maybe?
